Emulsion paint on BFK Rives with three stamped oriental seals. Calligraphy with no semantic meaning written in an age when e-mail, SMS and barcodes largely displace the handwritten word. In this calligraphy, the word is also displaced, but rhythm and spirit prevail.
Seals: Three oriental seals have been stamped onto the work. The first is in the form of a barcode, stamped from an agate chop commissioned in Hong Kong. The second was stamped with the characters reading upside down from bottom to top. The seals paraphrase the arrangement and direction of the three brushstrokes and their direction of reading is marked by pencil drawn arrows.
